Hi! My name is Maria and I live in Soldotna, Alaska. I was born and raised in Alaska, living in many different villages and towns as a youngster. I really do love Alaska…still!

I am a born-again Christian and big time Bible thumper. I don’t get in people’s faces, I just live my life for Jesus. I am blessed to have an American Sign Language Worship Ministry at my church. This is my burning passion, signing for Jesus.

I am also a certified teacher here in the frozen north. I have chosen to home school my own children (best use of the degree I can think of) and run my own teaching/tutoring business (www.alaskalearningcurve.com). This allows me to teach my children, teach other children and teach ASL!
I love my children all so much! The only thing I love more than hanging with my kids and husband is signing and writing. My writing has taken a back seat lately, but I am beginning to get it out there. Some has been published, and some is still in need of work. Most of it is still in my head…waiting!

There are several reasons I love to write. One is because it has always calmed me down and allowed me an avenue to ‘vent’. Another is because I like to investigate things, and writing down what I find makes the time I spend doing this tangible. But, my driving passion is to reach children and teens through the words God puts in my heart!
