Twitter Me Silly
So what is it with Twitter anyway?
Every major organization, church, charity, band, movie star, and average American now has a Twitter account. Add to that people all over the world, from Japan to Britain, who have Twitter. Some even have two, or three! The weird thing, there are people following you on Twitter you don’t even know. How scary is that? You could have more people following you on Twitter than a combined total of all the people you have ever met in your life. So be careful what you write, or post, or whatever you call it in Twitterese.
There are, actually, useful purposes for Twitter. You can follow news, warnings (such as our active volcano status here in Alaska) or your favorite organization. You can share with your friends and family instantly, with just one text. Thus, you can all be on the same page, have the same thoughts and know the same thing. Come to think of it, that means we now longer need the dinner table, which is where these sorts of ideas and news events were talked about before modern technology. We can all eat on the run, Twitter our thoughts, get all the recent news and updates and keep moving with no personal contact whatsoever 24/7. Hmmm….
